Tom Lewis will become the new executive director of the Poultry Industry Council (PIC) as of Feb. 24.
Lewis has worked extensively in the agriculture sector, most recently serving as Industry Relations/Editor of Ontario Sheep News for Ontario Sheep Farmers. Prior to this, he was the minister’s senior policy advisor with OMAFRA.
“On behalf of the PIC Board, it is a privilege to welcome Tom to the PIC team,” said Caroline Gonano, chair of PIC, in a statement. “Tom’s experience with program development and delivery, notably his experience delivering extension services, will be integral to PIC’s vision of supporting a thriving, healthy and competitive, Ontario poultry industry. We look forward to working collaboratively together with industry and our members to deliver on our new strategic plan, with a focus on better learning technology and opportunities, and increased member engagement.”
“I am very excited for the opportunity to join the Poultry Industry Council team,” said Lewis. “I look forward to taking on this new role and the responsibilities that come with the position.”
